In 2020, the world changed — and so did travel.

Cruise ships stopped sailing, planes stayed grounded, and the bustling summer streets of Juneau grew quiet. But for those of us who love sharing Alaska with visitors, that pause sparked an idea.

If travelers couldn’t come to Alaska, why not send Alaska to them?

That’s how Taste Alaska! began — a collaboration among small businesses from every corner of the state to create something special. We filled our first boxes with the true tastes and treasures of Alaska: smoked salmon, birch syrup, jams, candies, teas, artwork, and handcrafted goods. Every item represented the spirit of Alaska and the small business owners who pour their hearts into what they make. Our mission was simple: “If you can’t come to us, we’ll come to you.”

Years later, that mission still guides everything we do. Our promise is to Deliver Tasty Memories — gifts that not only taste good but tell the story of Alaska. From our original Taste Alaska! Sampler to our popular 12 Days of Alaska holiday box, each collection celebrates the people and places that make our state so unique.

And now, we’ve made it easier than ever to build your own Alaskan experience. You can mix and match individual products to create a personalized box — maybe one filled with spicy hot sauces, or perhaps a sweet sampler of chocolates, fudge, and syrups. Every product is made right here in Alaska, and every purchase helps support local artisans, families, and small businesses.
